School activities

Opportunities to practise new skills, work with others, and explore interests beyond classroom lessons.

Beyond the classroom

These are the activity areas listed by the school. The current programme, year groups, and participation arrangements can be confirmed with the office.

Academic Competitions

Competitions such as a maths challenge, science fair, or spelling bee give students a reason to practise a subject in a different setting. Preparation involves reviewing ideas, checking work, and learning to present an answer clearly.

Science Club

Science activities begin with questions and observations. Students can practise making predictions, testing an idea, recording what happened, and explaining how the result relates to their original question.

Literary Club

Writing, poetry, reading, and public speaking offer different ways to use language. Preparing a piece of writing or speaking to an audience helps students organise their ideas and consider how others will understand them.

Music & Drama

Music and drama involve preparation, rehearsal, and cooperation. Students can practise listening, expression, and working towards a shared performance, whether they are taking part on stage or helping behind the scenes.

Art & Craft

Drawing, making, and other creative tasks give students space to develop an idea and work through choices. The process matters as much as the finished piece: trying, adjusting, and explaining what they have made.

Social Service

Community activities encourage students to think about the people around them. Taking responsibility for a shared task is a practical way to discuss cooperation, consideration, and the effect of individual actions.

Find an activity for your child

Start with your child’s interests and the activities available for their year group. Ask about the schedule, any materials needed, and whether participation takes place during or after the school day. There is no need for a child to have tried every activity before taking an interest.
